Privacy Notice
How the Youth STEM Research Network handles participant information, research submissions, safeguarding records, and communication data.
1. What Information We Collect
When you apply or register with YSRN, we collect your name, email address, country, time zone, education level, age band, research field interests, and any project proposals or trial tasks you submit.
For under-18 applicants, age band confirmation is processed solely to trigger appropriate safeguarding checks and ensure safe mentoring channels.
2. How Your Data Is Used
- Reviewing entry and research applications.
- Coordinating project workspaces, roles, and contributor ledgers.
- Communicating program updates and research reviews by email.
- Verifying issued research credentials and authorship history.
3. Data Retention and Safeguards
Personal contact details are held securely and are never sold, rented, or shared with commercial advertisers. Published research outputs only list the public contributor names and verified affiliations you explicitly agree to display in the research library.
4. Contact & Data Rights
You have the right to request a copy of your stored member data, correct inaccuracies, or request the deletion of non-published account records. Inquiries should be directed to the founding coordinators at privacy@ysrn.org.
